Southern School of Martial Arts became an offical martial arts school on May 26, 1996. The school started in the back yard of my residence in the Willow Spring area, near Fuquay-Varina. In August 1998 the school was moved to my new residence in Johnston County, in a small barn behind my house. In 2000 the school was moved to 335 E Market St. in Smithfield, NC. Due to the 2003 ressesion we were forced to close the school in Smithfield due to a decrease in business and a raise in our building rent. In July 2003 we reopened in a temporary location in Smithfield and in January 2004 the school was moved to the McGee's Crossroads area in my new residence at 284 Cabing Grove Ct. I converted the garage into dojo and that became our location up until last September when we out grew the garage. We then moved to the McGee's Crossings "Food Lion" Shopping Center. This is our new location.  We've had our struggles and hardships throught our history, but we've remained in business (mostly in private settings) and we now plan to continue to be in business in our new location for years to come.
