Select Video of Manabi-Masho Ju-Jitsu's Standing Grappling, Striking and Throwing Techniques. This page last updated February 21, 2011. For the most recent page please click on return home or type in www.manabi-masho.com In the videos below are some "select" demonstrations of Manabi-Masho Ju-Jitsu from Grandmaster John H. Casarez, Shihan Mark Murdock and students of both schools. This is only a small and limited view of our martial art. Most of the videos on this page demonstrate the standing aspect or our art. In my opinion standing evaision, striking, low kicking, standing grappling and throwing is the most effective and practical self defense method. Ju-Jitsu ground techniques are very effective one on one on the mat. They're just as effective on the street, one on one. However once you're on the street and go to the ground in a real fight they become very risky, especially if the attacker has friends that jump in to help. It's not good to be in the gaurd and have your ribs or head kicked in. It could be even worse if the attacker pulls a knife or gun. You're also at risk of being injured by the surface your fighting on, including pavement, gravel, broken glass, rocks, stumps and other objects on the ground. The longer you are on the ground the better chance you will be seriously injured. The best advice is to do the technique and get off the ground as quickly as possible. I only put the videos I choose on the website and choose what I teach in the dojo. To see all aspects of our training, including advanced techniques, ground grappling, multiple attack defense, advanced weapons and grappling counters you will have to enroll and attend a few classes.
